The stigmas around mental illness that still exist really frighten me. How much worse is it that so many of us are willing to subject ourselves to unnecessary suffering because we're more afraid of the treatments than the original condition?<br /><br />I'm sorry you've suffered from neglect in the past. This dates back to my early childhood all the way to high school in the early 70's My irresponsible father neglected all the gross signs and took it as a disciplinary problem, after he had been advised by a professional that I had a medical condition! What an asshole!
